Team DeLa
The course and Club debuted in 1984 from the visionary Tom Schot (PDGA #3303). The Club to this day embodies the vision of hall of famer, Schot. DeLa DGC strives to be as inclusive as possible with its membership and is welcoming of everyone to the course, with open arms and friendly attitude. All spectators are welcomed to the 2023 event, no pass required.
The course is long celebrated and prominent within the worldwide disc golf community. Starting with the Tom’s vision, the course has offered up nuanced challenges, and length. In the mid 1980’s, when discs were different, courses emphasized technical shots over length, and DeLa added distance to help define championship level course. DeLa DGC also offers significant elevation changes with the signature final hole, “Top of the World” being most iconic, in history of the sport.

Nearby Attractions
While soaking in the early May vibes of sun shiny California, there’s plenty to take in while visiting the Santa Cruz area. And fortunately, the tournament’s website has all the bases covered on it’s Local page. Food, accommodations, and fun activities, are all found on the page. Still, Art asked for specific suggestions from Team DeLa, and here’s what was conveyed:
If you like Mexican/taqueria’s then Tacos Moreno’s is the place to go. Its just down the street from the course and its a favorite to many if not all the locals. If you want seafood, then going out to the Wharf near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is the place to go, specifically Riva’s. There’s also tons of great breweries in Santa Cruz like Santé Adairius, Humble Sea, and Discretion Brewing. The attractions include Henry Cowell State Park, Roaring Camp Railroad, all of the wonderful beaches, the Boardwalk, the Mystery Spot, and the list goes on.
