An AF Tournament Profile

Friday April 1st through Championship Sunday April 3rd

DGPT Silver Series Event

aka
MCO

Tournament Director: Zachary Hoy
Assistant TD: Jay Skinner

Supporting Disc Golf Club: Music City Disc Golf (nonprofit public charity). For the past decade, MCDG has landed high quality tournaments in the Nashville area, while teaching locals about the game.

Courses in play for 2022 MCO: Mill Ridge Park
Course designer: Shawn Sinclair

Mill Ridge Park is an 18 hole course (54 total holes for 3 day tournament) with red, white and blue Dynamic Discs Veteran baskets. Tees are artificial turf. The course utilizes lots of elevation changes, with tight gaps both off the tee, as well as down the fairway closer to targets. There are several small ponds throughout the course that play as OB. Additionally, holes 1 and 10 have elevated baskets, and there is an island hole for added challenge.

MPO par for MCO is 64, with approx. 9100 total feet.

FPO par is 65, with approx. 8300 total feet. FPO course has a few holes with different pars, different pin positions and alternate tees.

MCO History

MCO began as a B Tier event in 2012, then grew to A Tier for several years, and in 2021 was the National Tour Finale as Elite Series. In 2022, MCO plays as the second Silver Series event on tour.

In mid April 2022, MCDG will host an A-tier MCO event for amateurs and age-based divisions, playing on 5 additional courses in the Nashville area.

Dynamic Discs has been long time supporter of MCO and disc golf brand title sponsor for the event. In 2022, the event added a second title sponsor with MadeFirst, a TN based creative design and fabrication company.

Nearby Attractions

When in Music City, you have to take in the music, right? TD, Zachary Hoy recommends the honky tonk bars of Lower Broadway in Nashville, along with the mother church of country music, aka Ryman Auditorium. And of course the classic Grand Ole Opry.

If sports are more your thing, then Zach suggests taking in a Nashville Predators, NHL game, at the Bridgestone Arena. During MCO tournament week the Predators will host the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, March 29th.
