Picking up from the Mid May Power Ranking, this update uses nearly the same data criteria. AF Power Rankings continue as combination of the 2 divisions, and highly relevant to fantasy disc golf.
Here is criteria that went into this ranking:
- 2023 Elite (ES) average – 7 events thru Portland, minimum of just 1 to count for this list
- 2023 Silver (SS) average – minimum of just 1 to count for this list
- Latest weekly ranking
- Last 5 EM average – of the 8 total Elite plus Major events in 2023 so far, this column is averaging last 5. “NA” means they haven’t played 5 in 2023.
- How many events each is playing over next 4 – through KCWO
- Player averages at upcoming events
This Power Rankings update ignores players playing just 1 fantasy relevant event, or less. This means otherwise strong players are not included. Here are notable names not included, and why:
- Eagle McMahon (previously 3rd) – plays just 1 event
- Ohn Scoggins (prev 4th) – plays 0 events
- Paul McBeth (prev unranked) – plays 0 events
- Sai Ananda (prev UR) – plays 1 event
- Sarah Hokom (prev 21) – plays 1 event
- James Proctor (prev 12) – plays 2 events, poor avg on one of those
The next 4 events include 3 Elite events and 1 Silver. In order they are: DDO, DMC, Preserve and then KCWO. Players with the better average at upcoming events are generally given higher power ranking than those playing all 4, hence why Simon is ahead of Orum. Simon plays just 2 of the 4, yet is defending champ of DMC.
