Post event update: Once again predictions are showing up as nearly impossible to make accurate predictions. Two of the predicted 30 top players for Austin dropped from the event after it started. This is referred to as ‘did not start.’ This doesn’t count against the players as it effectively means they never played the event, but who would even think of predicting players as ‘did not start?’ Surely not AF this time around, and so it impacts how accurate we were. Thus we provide our results under 2 scenarios. The criteria we are using to measure our accuracy is same as last event:
- Yellow = 0 to 1 place that the Order (guess) was off from 2024 (actual) place is top tier prediction. This we consider “Spot On.” Exact Match or zero off is the ideal (green number), but the range for top tier guess is within 1 of being correct.
- Green = 2 to 6 places off is “Semi-close.”
- Orange = 7 to 12 places off is “Somewhat off”
- Red = 13 to 20 places off is “Well off”
- Gray = 21+ places off or “Way off”
Austin is the 3rd event of the season where we had 5 ‘spot on’ predictions, with 2 of those being exact matches. 12 more were in the semi-close range, or a total of 17 were semi-close or better. With the 2 players dropping, then our picks are based on either the 30 total listed below, or adjusted total of 28, in which case:
- It is 17% were spot on with 30 total, or 18% spot on with 28 total
- 57% were semi-close or better if counting 30 total, or 61% if going with 28.
Under either scenario, this is our best results yet for FPO in 2024, as we had 16% spot on during Chess event, and 14% during Waco. Not quite at the target of 20%, but seemingly we are getting closer.
What’s below was published before the event started
The FPO predictions, or event rankings, for the upcoming Elite event continue. Our goal is to get 20% accuracy for each of the 30 we have in projected order. These rankings are intended to inform fantasy disc golf participants as well as entertain fans of the elite players on tour.

The Open at Austin is an event with very little historical data for elite pros over the past 5 years. It is the 2nd year it is an Elite event on the pro tour. Fortunately, there’s been some season played to give us an indication of who’s doing well, and who may be struggling a bit.
Us predicting Kristin Tattar not to win is not any sign of her struggling. Instead, we don’t think she’ll win every event she plays, and this is one time where we think another elite pro (Missy) will come out on top.
The event predictions are truly meant to be viewed as simple list, depicting projected order they’ll finish from 1 through 30, along with their AF latest ranking (updated earlier this week), then player name, rating, and actual place they end up at 2024 Austin.
For understanding the colors, or added layering to the event rankings, please see our description from the last event rankings page.
Of the 15 or so players we don’t track or include in event rankings, the main rationale is whether they show up as fantasy relevant players to the 2024 season. We are likely monitoring the higher rated players in field that aren’t noted in our event rankings (or standard rankings) and as soon as they warrant adding to the more active list, we intend to make that happen.
